Finding a good perfume is the equivalent of finding the perfect outfit and accessories. Looking good and smelling great is essential for feeling good when you step out. You may have read my previous post about how aromas can evoke memories. I will share my all-time best 5 best soft feminine perfumes I love to wear. Some of these are oldies but goodies. They are strong enough to leave an impression yet gentle enough not to be intrusive.
It’s Important to smell good
My mom taught me this theory which states that you feel good when you look good. I’m going to add to that theory when you look good and smell good, you feel great. So having a collection of perfumes, no matter how small, gives your outfit the final touch of sophistication. It is essential to have a signature scent if creating memories, and impressions are important to you. Sometimes it is so distinctive that this is one of the most significant things about you that might be remembered by someone in passing.
Get a signature scent
Having a signature scent shows off your taste in fragrances. It can make you smell like a home to your significant other and family. For example, my grandmother had a signature scent called Anais Anais. It has an elegant, delicate, feminine, floral scent that stayed with me. I always knew when my grandmother was in the room because it left delicate whiffs wherever she went. Even though she has passed away, whenever I see or smell the perfume, I feel like it was just yesterday that I saw her. That’s how powerful scents are.
I’ve never been big on strong perfumes, mainly because the scent becomes cloying after a half hour. And if I can’t stand these scents, my co-workers or students may not like scents that force themselves upon them either.
I remember while working in an office setting, there was a lady who wore a very loud perfume. Daily! I used to avoid her because I wouldn’t say I liked the scent of the perfume. She loved it, and I didn’t. This is another reason I am mindful of wearing strong perfumes, especially when working closely with people. I do not want to have that same effect on them. Because what I like, they may not, and vice versa. I don’t ever want to be the cause of triggering anyone’s sinuses or memories, for that matter lol.
I love delicate, powdery, floral, and discreet scents; I also choose the best fragrance depending on my mood or outfit. On a typical day, I do not wear perfume; however, when I go to church or attend a special occasion, I reach for these. They are listed and linked below:

I’m a perfume girl.. My faves are delina, ysl libre, Jimmy Choo I want choo, dior jadore parfum d’eau, olympea solar and a new fav is the al haramain amber oud gold edition… I prefer bossy scents as opposed to subtle… It must give off ‘I ain’t no average chic’ kinda vibe.. My dior is my subtle scent.. I’m willing to try your suggestions because I know you have great taste
Yaaaaassssss I love that you love the bossy scents! You ARE a girl boss after all! I’ve always loved jimmy choo scents but I’ve never managed to purchase it for myself. Perhaps I’ll try Al haramain as you suggested and see what I think.
